When it comes to displaying a knife, especially here on the internet, it can be extremely hard to do a very large knife justice. Not that it´s harder to press the button on the camera, but it´s more in a large knife then just the visual appearance; the weight and the pure awesomeness when holding it and the feeling of immortality when daydreaming of victory in coming battles… all that is very hard to catch in a photo.

Jack Scadina

This knife can surely be described as a very special project and that description is not from the knife itself, but more how I worked with the customer. It was ordered by custom knife collector Jack Scardina and have been developed in very close relation with the customer. Jack is a older fellow with a vision of what he want´s and what kind of knives he likes. It´s always a challenge for a knifemaker to try matching a picture in someone else’s mind while keeping the artistic integrity intact, but it can also be very rewarding to keep an open mind and listen beyond your own thoughts.

This knife was developed under more then half a year and after hundreds of E-mails with both agreements and misunderstandings it finally saw the light of day to both the knifemakers and customers delight. It´s one of the largest knives I made so for (not counting the swords) and have a great balance between size / weight; despite it´s size it still feels quick in the hand. It now stand in a collection on the other side of the Atlantic ocean beside the other mind behind it´s creation.

The Knife is a 52 cm monster with a 6 bar pattern welded composite blade. The handle have some very nice Desert Ironwood and 3 bar composite pattern welded steel front and back pommel – carved, etched and textured. The Sub-hilt is stainless steel with engravings. The sheath is hand tooled Rawhide leather with pattern welded steel overlay. Mosaic steel belt-loop button.

Now I´m of to new projects!
